1. What information do we collect and how do we use it?

When you register as a student or a subscriber ("learner") on our Sites or in our Alievo™ Courses, as part of the registration process, we collect the personal information you provide to create an account. This process is required when you want to access free content or simply register and participate in learning activities.

We may send you emails regarding our Alievo™ Sites and Courses, regarding registration, Course content, progress on your Courses or other updates. We may also use your email to notify you of changes to the Course, conduct surveys about your use of the Site(s), or simply to gather your feedback.

2. How do you obtain my consent?

When you provide us with personal information to become a learner on our Sites, make a purchase, or participate in an Alievo™ Course, you are indicating that you consent to have us collect and use that information only for the specific purposes stated in this policy.

If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, such as marketing, we will ask you directly for your explicit consent and/or give you the opportunity to opt out or unsubscribe.

How do I withdraw my consent and/or delete my account?

If, after choosing to participate, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you for either the collection of information, use or continued disclosure of your information. You may do so at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. Deleting your account also requires an action on our part.

We may disclose your personal information if we are required to do so by law or if you violate our Terms of Use.

4. Thinkific

Alievo™ Courses are hosted by Thinkific Labs Inc. ("Thinkific"). Thinkific provides us with the online Course creation platform that allows us to sell our products/services to you.

If you place an order on our site, we use the third-party payment processor PayPal. Payments are encrypted in accordance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as necessary to complete your purchase transaction.

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by the PCI DSS, managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of companies such as Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

However, some third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies regarding the information we must provide them for your purchase transactions.

For these suppliers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies to understand how your personal information will be handled by these suppliers.

Some providers may be located or have facilities located in a different jurisdiction than you or us. If you choose to engage in a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, your information may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.

For example, if you are located in Canada and your transaction is processed through a payment gateway located in the United States, your personal information used to complete that transaction may be disclosed under United States law, including the Patriot Act. If you are located in the United States or outside of North America and your transaction is processed through a payment gateway located in Canada, your personal information used to complete that transaction may be disclosed under the laws of Canada, including the Privacy Act.
